I would use the most recent stable version, which is currently 5.4.
With the latest 4.x release, you will have fewer discrepancies in our OS
configuration documentation to worry about.

It is probably up-to-date as far as 4.x releases are concerned. Most
settings should apply to FreeBSD 5.x as well. One minor FreeBSD 5.x
change we have noticed is that
        cd /sys/compile/POLYGRAPH
should now be written as
        cd /sys/i386/compile/POLYGRAPH

You will get "using deprecated header file" warnings from some recent
compilers when building Polygraph 2.8. They are harmless, and we are
taking care of them in Polygraph 3.x.

If you find any other problems, with any recent FreeBSD release, please
let us know.
