Yes, a few users reported compilation bugs on Solaris since 2.8.0 was
released. The attached patch fixes all the bugs we know about,
including the one you described. It may or may not help you, depending
on whether your environment is different from other Solaris users.
Please apply the patch and see if you can get further.

If the patch applies cleanly but you still get compilation errors,
