Polyclt process starts up when you execute polyclt executable. For
example, when you type "./polyclt ..." in your shell prompt.

After polyclt process starts up, it does many things like loading
configuration files and parsing them. One of the things Polygraph may
do is to create IP aliases. That is why some IP addresses in the
configuration file may not exist at the time polyclt process starts
up.

When configuration files are parsed and most of the setup steps are
completed, Polygraph creates agents (robots or servers) and binds them
to the addresses specified in the configuration file. That is why
those addresses must exist at the time of agent creation.

Consequently, if the addresses did not exist when you started polyclt
(or polysrv) process, you must configure Polygraph to create those
addresses so that the agents have something to bind to. The Web page
you were reading explains, in part, how to configure Polygraph to
create addresses run-time.
