Confused with the words "address alias".

Hi, pals.

Check this link, "http://www.web-polygraph.org/docs/userman/address.html",
1.1 Server Side, paragraph 1. It is said, "create the required address
aliases run-time".

I often meet with the word "address aliases" throughout the
document. But I do not know what mean "address aliases". Is it
the same address or some other address of the server in this case?

Can anyone give me a explanation?
