I meant things like cell phones prefetching advertisements or scripts
checking for stock price changes. In other words, activities that are
done by/with semi-explicit human authorization or knowledge. Non-human
surfers will include things like your next refrigerator checking with
the manufacturer Web site whether it is time to upgrade the ice-making
software. Some people believe that this kind of traffic will dominate
the Internet in a foreseeable future.
