Re: Reminder: July 10 registration deadline

Hi there,

We have received several requests to extend the deadline for
cache-off registration. Please note that the soft registration deadline
was designed to give Polyteam enough time to fix bugs before the code
freeze and to get a good estimate on the number of cache-off entries. It
would be silly for us to automatically deny participation in the event
to all late vendors. However, we must protect ourselves from
unreasonable demands of those who did not use the alloted preparation
time wisely.

Here is the deal:

        1. If we get the registration payment in time, you
are guaranteed a slot at the bake-off

        2. If we get the bug reports in time, we will fix
the problems before the code freeze date

Everything else is possible, but we can give no guarantees. If you know
you are going to be late with one or the other, please let us know ASAP.
We will do our best to address your needs.

For example, if you submit your payment late, we might refuse to accept
your registration (e.g., we may not have enough space, PCs, or other
resources to accommodate your entry). If you do not submit Polygraph
reports in time, we may not be able to warn you about Polygraph misuse
in your lab. If you do not submit usable bug reports in time, we may
not be able to fix compatibility or other problems. Etc.

I would also like to use this opportunity to thank those vendors who are
actively testing Polygraph 2.5.1 and providing valuable feedback.

Thank you,

Alex.

P.S. My apologies to those who are annoyed by the increased traffic
volume on this e-list. We will probably have to reorganize the
list to protect those who are not interested in the "bleeding edge"
developments. Meanwhile, just be patient, it will all go away
     with the bake-off deadlines. :)
