I am not sure what your question has to do with Polygraph or
benchmarking in general. Shift-Reload should work with Netscape.
Something-Refresh (Ctrl?) should work with IE, unless you use TCP
redirection/hijacking in your setup. You can monitor the traffic and see
if the browser add "Pragma: no-cache" or similar to the requests in
question.

Polygraph 2.5.x can be configured to emit "reload" requests as well.
