Dear all,
The time for our next meeting to discuss cache benchmarking
issues is getting closer. You can find meeting agenda, registration
deadlines, and logistics at
http://bakeoff.ircache.net/N03/
We strongly encourage all potential bake-off participants to send their
representative to the meeting. This is your best chance to shape the
rules and the workload for the third caching bake-off.
This time we would like to extend our invitation to the vendor(s) who
currently boycott bake-offs. Let's start from a clean slate! Please come
to the meeting and voice your opinion. I am sure we all can benefit from
cooperation.
The agenda contains several items related to public tests _external_ to
the bake-offs. Recently, there was a lot of discussions about
post-bake-off tests. We want to hear everybody's thoughts on whether
those tests should be allowed and how to conduct them. Please see the
meeting materials on the Web for details.
To summarize, if your company intends to make public the performance of
their caching products, you should come to the meeting.
As always, if you have any suggestions regarding the agenda, please let
us know. If you cannot attend the meeting, consider sharing your ideas
on the mailing list or in private.
Hope to see you in Boulder,
Alex.
