I assume you are using --proxy option on the client side to specify
the proxy. What happens if you telnet from a client machine to a proxy
using the HTTP port? For example,
client> telnet 10.0.1.1 8080
Where your proxy is listening on 10.0.1.1:8080 and you are using --proxy
10.0.1.1:8080 command line option to polyclt.
